Zoë Ashe-Browne

Zoë Ashe-Browne is an Irish choreographer and dance artist from Dublin, working internationally across contemporary dance, opera and ballet. Combining classical precision with a highly physical contemporary language, her work explores human relationships, behaviour and the tension between care, control and belonging.

In 2026, her duet SIBLING received Second Prize at the 40th Hannover Choreographic Competition, alongside production awards with Tanz Linz and Tanztheater Braunschweig. In that same year she worked as choreographic assistant and rehearsal director to Phia Ménard and K’ORSIA on Opera Ballet Vlaanderen’s Opera/Dance production of De Materie.

Her duet I’m trying to help was a finalist at the 2024 Hannover Choreographic Competition and received the production prize with Theater Chemnitz.

Her choreographic work includes commissions for Ballet Ireland, Landestheater Vorpommern,Valencia Dancing Forward, Gent Festival / Flanders and Theater Chemnitz, alongside film collaborations with the audio-visual artists The Cope and The Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp.

Zoë is a recipient of the 2021 Countess Markievicz Award and multiple Arts Council of Ireland Dance Bursaries. She was the Associate Artist of Dance Ireland in 2021/22, Associate Artist of KMSKA Museum 2022 and Artist in Residence with Luail, Ireland’s National Dance Company, in 2025.

A graduate of English National Ballet School, she has performed with Ballet Ireland, English National Ballet, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen and Eastman / Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Her repertoire as a performer includes works by Pina Bausch, Alain Platel, William Forsythe, Akram Khan, Jan Martens, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Alexander Ekman.

Alongside her choreographic practice, Zoë has been a guest rehearsal director at Luail, Irelands National Dance Company, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen in Belgium and guest lecturer at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick.
